Can anyone who has equipped their truck with one tell me if the front end suspension (IFS) of a 2001 F150 4X4 Offroad package can handle the weight of a Ramsey 8000 lb winch? I know that a solid axle truck can, but am a little leary of the IFS.
I dont think it should be a problem. If it sits a bit lower in the front after you install the winch you could maybe crank up the torsion bars a bit to compensate.
I just got through installing a 8000i on my 97 f150 using 3 simple pieces of steel with no problems.
As a matter of fact if you want you can email me and I will tell you how I installed it and maybe save you some money.
I know warn wanted about $300 for a behind the bumper kit plus you pay someone else to install.
Mine cost about $16 for the steel and I mig welded it together then bolted it on.
