seriously... why does my Sirius whistle?

So i have this whistle/wine through my system when running the Sirius thingy.
It seems to correlate with rpm...
Higher the rpm... higher pitched the wine/whistle...

The pitch of the whistle almost matches my turbo whistle.
The Sirius is powered through the cigar lighter port.
Aux audio 3.5mm cord from Sirius to the stereo head.

That's alternator whine, most likely.

Could be a bad diode in the alternator. Does the lights go slightly dim as the RPM goes down to idle, and then brighten up a little when you bring the RPMs up?

Does it do this in all of your vehicles, or just one?

Lights dont change with rpm...
Lights dont dim when im hitting 150db of chest crushing bass.

2 alternators...
3 batts.
Very big capacitor.

Every once in a while i get a soft code for the 2nd alternator... but usually only when im thumping pretty hard, have a 5th wheel plugged in, and operate trailer jacks under truck power.

The wistle does not follow the Sirius unit. Have 3 of them... they all do it.
Come to think of it... when my tablet is charging in the truck... if im listening to it thru the truck audio... i get the wine also.

If im not plugged into truck power... no wine.
No wine over regular stereo... like from a cd or am/fm.

You have a ground loop. Either your Sirius unit is trying to ground through your head unit (instead of the power adapter) or you have ground problems on the head unit.

If it's not the OEM charger/power supply for the Sirius unit, you'll have to find one.

(I have the same problem with my phone and cheap chargers.)

Find the satellite tuner, under the radio or behind the seat. and add a short piece of wire with 2 ring terminal screw one end to the satellite chassis case and the other end of the wire to any good ground in your vehicle chassis,
this work in my case and there is no more noise
