I am at a bit of a loss. I have an issue with the 4AWD light flashing on my 1997 Ford Expedition 4.6L. I was pondering the fact that it may be the T case motor, but then I wouldn't have 4L since that is when the motor engages. The following are the facts and I hope someone can help set me into the right direction.
1. I have 2WD, 4H and 4L. No problems there at all.
2. I have replaced the T case Speed sensor and while I was down there I gave it 2 new quarts of Dex.
3. The check engine light is NOT illuminated...
4. I do not have the ABS light illuminated as well.
I have replaced the one at the rear of the transfer case above the drain and fill plugs. I cannot find the second one that I have seen people mention. Where is that second one?
The front sensor is hidden behind the shift motor. You have to remove the shift motor to get to it. Take a look at the PDF I've attached, It show where both the front and rear sensors are.
