No real reason..... I like it awesome job it looks very good from the picture. I've seen something similar on a different truck before it was the 6637 "stacked" with a spectra filter on a hopped up truck before. I really couldn't think of a real good reason for it.
From an absolute air flow perspective, dual intake filters are not necessary at all, especially when you're starting out with a 6637.
Two positives DO come from this, though:
1) reduced pressure drop for the incoming air -- the air can get to the turbo easier with less restriction, and
2) your filters will take longer to get dirty -- less frequent require cleaning/replacing.
While increasing filter surface area, though, there is a point where the intake tube itself will be the limiting factor due to friction through the tube. That said, I really don't think you could fit enough air filter surface area under the hood to ever see that happen.
we did it to both of our trucks, and i believe i saw more of a difference cause im tuned. i def. felt and saw an increase in spool up, no boost gains, but a definite increase in spool. i also saw lower egts (approximately 70*-100*) throughout the whole rpm range, cruising and accelerating.
