First Road trip

I just hit 30,000 miles on my expy and the scheduled maintenance guide says that I need to change the transmission/transaxle fluids, replace the fuel filter, lubricate the ball joints and steering linkage.

I'll be taking the family to Tahoe in two weeks and I'm wondering if I can safely postpone the above maintenance until we get back. The total miles traveled will be appr. 1000 miles.

Thanks for your help.

Odds are you can postpone it,but why chance a problem on the road with your family with you when you can get it done in one day or less for roughly $200 or so if nothing else needs replacing. If there is a problem needing repair you're better off finding out with your truck on the rack then at 75 mph on the highway. To be safe you can call and make an appointment and tell them everything you'd like done and to make sure they've got all the needed parts in stock and reserved for you before you bring it in. I'm not trying to scare you but if you're going to do it anyway why not do it before the trip and get it over and done with.
