Maximus Buckshot Mudders
Overall opinion: Good Tire's, but not excellent, very well priced.
In the Mud: Rolling in 4 high, you have to get them spinning pretty good to clean em. My old Bf's cleaned alot better. The Buckshots seem to dig in alot more than the Bf's did and bog down, or could be good for getting to the hard stuff under neath the top layer. Running in 4 low, they caked up alot more than the bf's, tracking was still good, just didn't seem to have the bit that my old Bf's did, this may be due to the side wall lugs on the bf's that the buckshots don't have. The buckshots would bite really good on turns, just about the same as the bf's.
In the Sand: The Buckshots were very impressive. Even in wet sand they cleaned very well, and ate it up. Never put it in 4 low in the sand but high ran great.
On rocks: The buckshot's were very impressive, I only took them to the rocks about 3 times, obviously our fords don't have the articulation that jeeps do, but it gripped as well as my old bf's did.
Sidewalls: The side walls seem to be a little bit weaker than the bf's. They have some deformations in certain areas, no bubbles yet.
Wear: I have put about 12K on them so far and have about 17-18/32's, that's around 85-88% tread left. They seem to wear very good.
Overall, for a cheaper(under $750) set of tires they were very impressive.
I am thinking of trying out the Pro-Comp X Terrians in a couple month's, if you have any opinions, throw them my way.
