I was talking about standard cabs, although I hadn't considered other options and should have. Anyway, I think you are good to go. Again, I haven't done it so I'm going on what I've been told, but told by more than one FTE'er.
i once put a seat from an early-90s into a late-60s truck, and the only modification needed was to drive out a couple studs to allow the tracks from the truck to bolt onto the donor seat - they changed floor mounting a time or two over the different generations. that said, i don't know if any changes were made in the years in question
Well, I looked at the seat, and it was not as good as the pic showed. So I guess I'm still looking.
Thanks guys for the info, at least I now know what to look for.
All bench seats are interchangable from 80-96. I'm not sure about other years. If you find a crew cab, the front bench does not fold forward, but the rear one does. I have a rear bench from an 89 crew in my regular cab.
I've seen red supercabs (small back seat but two doors) and that should work, too.
Quite honestly, what comes to mind is material (vinyl, felt, whatever looks good) purchased from a fabric store and added to the existing cover.
Removing the existing vinyl will be a lot of work, though, and you'll need a decent sewing machine to sew heavy material like that together. But it can be done, I used to watch my mom reupholster furniture and car seats.
