At least your having fun Rich! Lol

Need some info... As some of you know I have been looking for a dent f250 since I found out they crushed my Grandpa's. I want no more than a 4 inch spring lift on it if I do it. I heard you can use newer superduty front springs.... So I copied this from a thread.....

On my 79, I used Ed's old 99-04 Superduty front springs. The 4" SD springs got me about 5" lift, and I promise they ride 1000x better than hi-boy springs. They're not too hard to find used, are ALMOST a direct bolt in, and WAY cheaper than the overpriced lift kits.is....

.I copied that for reference... Is that 4" superduty springs what they lift our trucks or are they 4 inch lift springs put on our trucks to lift it 5 inches? Hope I was clear.....

Here is the linkhttps://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...y-springs.html

I read it as the springs are a 4" lift kit set of springs for a SD. I do not think they are talking a stock set of SD springs??

A stock set of SD springs would be cheap if we lived in a area where alot of SD are getting lift kits put on, like in California.....

I know where a 4" SD/F350 lift kit is with all 4 springs....My x bro inlaw has it and I am sure he would sale it cheap enough.

I am not interested because my blue truck already has a 4" lift kit , the red has a 6" and ol silver is just fine stock with a add-a leaf in the front end.

I have a ton of info on the swap from "Ed" aka F350 from FTE, he is not on here anymore though.

I'm not wanting to go too tall, this would be my towing rig. Just want it to look good! That would put me at 5 inches of lift then? Do you have any pics of what that would look like? :-)

My silver truck is stock with a front add-a lift and rear OEM overloads, sway bar and has 33x12.50x16.5, perfect for towing.

Blue truck has 4" lift also has OEM overloads, rear sway bar and 35's, you have to use a little more of a drop hitch, but it works fine.

And ol red is a 6" and has 35's but I could put 37's or 38's easy enough. I would tow with it but it would not be my all the time tow rig for sure.

With that big of a tire will have lots of side wall, not a good set up on a tow rig.

A 4" or a 6" is standard when it comes to off the shelf lifts. There is alot more of that quote to read to get SD springs to work.

On a different note, I'm asking, no make that BEGGING SHAMELESSLY, for some help from my Misery FTE friends & neighbors. Just entered a contest from Gumout to win some money to start fixing BlackBird up. I need votes PLEASE!! This is the SpaceBook connection, not sure how to get there if you're not on SpaceBook. Maybe go to Gumout & find the contest? BlackBird is my '86 AMC Eagle wagon Alan helped me rescue during spring break. Thanks in advance y'all!

Back for my second day in the contest. Still WAY behind folks. LESS THAN 100 votes so far. Some of those people (including a 5h1trolet in top place, el crapmino) have 400 & 500 votes. I need A LOT of help. You can vote once a day. IF you make it into the top 10, you have a 1 in 10 chance of winning. PLEASE HELP me get that 1 in 10 chance by voting for me every day (told ya I was shamelessly begging). Thanks!!

Yeah, I think you do Rich. THANKS!! Way behind here, may have 75 by now. The judges are going to pick from the top ten when it's over (18th?). Till then, you can vote once a day.

Howdy friends.

Mother Nature has made a mess out of our neck of the woods lately. We're pretty much above all the flooding you may have seen on the news. The basement is staying dry, but the driveway is beginning to soften up. When this is all over, I really need to figure out how to haul in a load or five of material to build it back up again.

For the first time in 6 years, I had traffic to deal with on the way home from work. Since I-44 was closed at Jerome, they detoured them down Hwy 17 south to Hwy 32 to Licking and then up US 63 back to Rolla. When I left work, traffic was backed up for 2 miles heading in to Licking on Hwy 32. There was not much traffic going home until I got nearer to the Interstate.

I FINALLY am getting over this bug I've had for the last month. It took 3 trips to the dr in as many weeks, 2 rounds of steroids, and 2 different antibiotics. I feel better than I have in ages so once I can get things dried out enough to work on the camper I can really make some progress.

Stay dry out there - this rain doesn't seem to be going away any time soon so it might be time to start thinking about building an ark. Ha! I just realized one of the buildings they are using as a shelter is actually built to look like Noah's Ark. How ironic is that?

It isn't going to stop raining for a while, so all ya'all stay safe and above water out there.

Question.....? Those a/c units in the dash of the trucks that are over towards the glove box, here is a pic http://ts2.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4808277107345541&pid=1.7

How do they work with no ac box under the hood? any other info is appriciated....
