thanks in advance!! i have a 1996 5.0L f-150.
found a 96 explorer with hopefully gt 40 heads for my f-150, do i need more then the heads from the explorer like the intakes?
also these are my mods i wish to do also want to confirm before i start my process aswell as any other suggestions you have:
1) GT 40 heads ( 96 explorer or 93 cobra)
2) stock air system with K&N filter
3)morcraft spark plugs
4) 9mm ford racing spark plugs
5) msd coil & distribuator Cap $ rotor
* comp cam forget what ser#
* Headers would like suggestions??( will be running duals)
* Also you mentioned gears what would you suggest
Use your truck intake. The Explorer intake is more for midrange up upper RPM power. It makes a damn good Mustang intake. Your factory truck intake is way better simply because it was designed for a full sized truck. FYI Explorer valve springs suck. They're junk. You will need different springs for anything other than the stock cam. Unless of course you like to float valves
