1962 intermittent brake light problem simple fix.
Today is day 3 of having intermittent brake light problems which is rediculous considering how I replaced the wiring, have proper grounds, new switch, the blinkers work, running lights work. It was driving me crazier than normal because I did not know where to start troubleshooting.
For troubleshooting, I verified the key was on and I put the hot wire directly to the brake switch downstream side and the brake lights worked. I was thinking the pressure switch but when I drive the truck, the brake lights always worked.
It finally dawned on me this is a "crazy broke brain problem".
I would stand by the truck, reach in with my weak left hand and press on the brake while I watched the back of the shop for a reflection of the brake lights. I was not pushing the brake in far enough to build up any pressure. Pressing further and harder fixed the problem. I told myself, "It is not a limit switch on the end of the master cyclinder, dummy."
