Cigarett lighter socket USB converter

I picked up a couple of those dual-USB converters that is about the size of the cigarette lighter and had one in the front port and one in the back seat port. My kids always forget their phone/iPod chargers so I thought this would be a good idea. Well, I've been a little disappointed in my radio reception even with the new head unit and amplified antenna. Last night my daughter said that she bet if I remove the USB things from the sockets, I'd get better reception. Low and behold, she was right!

You might just have a funky unit... Try plugging something different in.

Also, I think there is some sort of filter you can install inline with the stereo that can help with this.

Thanks guys. I was using something similar in my bride's expy when I used it for a road trip a few weeks ago. I was using a USB charger and had my iPod plugged into the deck (aftermarket) and it sounded horrible. I'll try just using the charger when I need to.
