I felt like we had a good meet. We got to do some front end work. I beat ball joints like they owed me money. Ron's Dad in law Roger knows his way around a sledge hammer as well and wasn't afraid to help. I got my carb powder coated and well on its way to being rebuilt. The 1405 did seem to need a rebuild kit put in it. The other carb I brought was a total mess as well. I am calling it the parts carb as of now. My carb was the prototype powder coat carb. Whoever does the next one will have a leg up from being in the dark as how to do it goes. It does look good.

Yes, thanks for the hospitality Gary. Your wife's brownies were great. It was good to see ya'll again. It was fun to get away, even for a short time, to have some guy time in the garage. lol. That was my first time eating at Ron's Hamburgers in Skiatook. We will definitely be back--good food!!! If I do the ball joints on my 78 f150 before selling it, now I know how to do it. Note to self----get an 8 foot cheater bar. lol

We did muscle some front end stuff around this weekend! I am glad we got Jon's knuckles off of Brownie before it got too hot.
The brownies and cupcakes were great, be sure and tell Janey we said thank you.
Lunch was great also. I think we settled for a good place. The Ron's in Skiatook is pretty consistently good. I couldn't talk ctubutis into the sausage chili cheeseburger. He doesn't know what he missed out on. It was fun having him there at the GTG again. His funny accent cracks me up!

I had a great time pounding on the frame out back. Nice to meet some fellow Ford truck enthusiasts. Gary, you have a great shop/garage. It's very nice of you to share it. Look forward to the next GTG. Ron's hamburger and fries was very good. But I have a weak spot for Charlie's fried chicken too, ha ha.

Here a list of the guys that were there, along with their "handles":
- Chris - ctubutis
- Jason - jasonhambrick
- Ray - Ray1986F150
- Jon - jstitts
- Roger - Rogerf100
- Brandon - Bruno2
- Ron - Cigarxtc Unfortunately, he's not in any of these pic's, mainly because he took many of them. Ron - please post yours!
- Torque! That's Ray, on the left, and Jason using a 4' cheater to press a ball joint out. Yep, that's torque.
- Lathe Work: That's me making an adapter on the lathe to press against the lip of the new ball joint. The pipe was just a bit too small to go over the ball joint so the application of a boring bar did the trick.
- The Adapter: Here we have Ray, holding the adapter with the enlarged part showing at the top, me, Brandon, and Jason after having successfully pressed the new lower ball joint in.
- Chilling: We like to watch people work, and here we have 5 people chilling and one working. From left it is Roger, Brandon, Chris, Jason, Ray, and Jon.
- Next: Here we have Ray, Jon, and Jason contemplating what they are going to do to Jon's truck. Turned out the wheel bearings were loose so they were cleaned, packed, and adjusted. But, I think he still has a lower ball joint problem that we didn't get to - yet.
- Filing: Brandon brought two carbs he picked up cheaply off of CraigsList, a 1405 and 1406 Edelbrock, and we planned to clean, powder coat, and rebuild one. So we took the 1405 apart, cleaned it with spray cleaner, blasted the pieces with walnut hulls in the blast cabinet, and powder coated it black. Here Brandon is filing the top screws down to take the ugly burrs off from someone's one-size-fits-all screwdriver.
- Carb: Here's the result - a black carb. But, we didn't get it fully rebuilt before we quit at 8 PM. Maybe this week?
