T56 would be cool. I do not know much about them but i believe they were originally designed for the dodge viper? Haha.
You may run into lots of money doing this.
Yea unless I wana stay with a 4 speed, im looking at a 2k$ tranny at least if I want the t56 .... Oh well. Time to sell more truck parts and save money! I currently have $200 to my name on free spending cash after I just bought the 59 f100....
Seriously consider the NV4500.. its worth the research, and adapters are readily available for your application.
Otherwise as previously stated, you already have the 4 speed and it wont cost you anything to bolt it up.. It will last the life of the truck, assuming you don't grind every single gear you shift.
I wouldn't consider any of the truck 5 speeds an upgrade from the NP435 you currently have, unless you need an overdrive gear. If it was my truck and the intended use was a street cruiser, I would bolt up a 4 speed toploader and be done with it.
