Question Transmission Cooler

I am currently having my transmission rebuilt in my 95 sport. I just recently bought a 2500lb boat that I will begin hauling around. Is it necessary for me to get a transmission cooler or will the stock stuff do? Thanks

I personally would use a transmission cooler. For the minimal extra expense, it's worth it. I mean, you're having your tranny rebuilt so why not go the extra mile? I have the stock one on mine so I'm assuming you have the 4.0 I6.

When you have the cooler put in, Have them connect it so that the fluid runs from the tranny , first through the original cooler (in the radiator) and then through the new cooler before going back to the tranny.

You'll get as much cooling as possible and your tranny will warm up quicker in the winter.

Have them put a shift kit in also. If your towing then it will shift cleaner

Transmission shift kit. Like the Baumann kit or the B&M shift kit. Find out what tranny you have and do an internet search. Probably find it on Summit or Jeg's. They make your tranny shift more firmly. They're also good if you want better performance like at the track. You probably need to do a tranny flush, fill, and filter change anyway so you could just put the shift kit on then.
