Hi, Guys, Building a 1956 FORD F100 from the ground up all most all components are new, fenders, bed, running boards,etc.,etc. Unfortunatly powered by GM 2003 LS/LQ4 Engine, set-up @ about 475HP//500HP., 4L80 Tranny,9"Ford Rear w/3:55 Gears,My question to the forum what is the best, biggest without fender mods, tires can we run. Don't want a Low Pro style tire if possible. Like to do the 18" X 20" thing ?
What kind of suspension do you have? Is the truck lowered any? That would limit your tire size. The big issue will be clearance as you turn. You could turn your wheels and measure how much space you have. Of course with that engine, you would need to account for body roll at speeds.
What size rims so you have on now? 15's?
Pictures would be helpful too. (I'm not saying that just because we love pictures....well maybe I am, but it still would help.)

Quick help, I love it !!!!!
We have installed Mustang II IFS along with CPP's drop spring suspension in the rear, lowered ( accordin to CPP) about 2"/3". Do not have wheels yet or selected tires. Someone posted a drawing ( very good by the way) of the measurements he figured to calculate the measurements for tire width. Our question if he rears this post was , What Front Sup. and what Rear Axle and Springs. Tire & wheel guys don't have any guide line as far as we can find out. I guess a true mock up using the rim sixe and tire sizes you want to use and start from there, problem with that in my area, no one has the rims with the offset you might need. 8" is about as much offset as we could find.
Long winded, but we need help. As many F100 as we saw @ PF, Tenn., I did not ask the ?????????????????????????????????????
