the # on the block is as such: D DE-6015-E3A N
What year block is this?
I am trying to focus on the problem as to why my timing chains are excessivly wearing out. Possibly do to the incorrect balancer, flex plate?
Is there a web page that will break these # down for me?
thanks in advance.

The part number you provided is incomplete. The first two digits will tell you the year. First digit is letter=decade, D=70's, E=80's etc, second digit is number=year, so D7 would be 77, for example.

I went under the truck and looked again and saw no other flashing with the numbers. The only other marking I saw on a tab by the XMSN mounting was: 79
What year did the balancer get changed out to the heavier 50 something weight?

I think it was 82 that it changed. And I think you're only missing the year digit out of the block part number.

I also got the part number from the harmonic balancer: E4TE-A3A what type of weight is this?
As for the rest of the numbers on the block, that is all there is to be read. so I'm stumped as to what year block there is in my truck.

Your harmonic balancer is from an 84 (or later) truck. I think you might want to check your flywheel part number too if possible.

Can you check this without removing the engine?
And, where is the harmonic balancer part #?

You do not have to pull the engine to get the Part #. It (mine) is located close to the TDC Mark stamped in. You may have to clean it to see the numbers like I had to.
