My son has recently purchased a 94 Bronco XL 4X4 with the 302 engine. There seems to be a relay missing, unfortunately the cover for the relay box is missing too. It has 3 relays in it in a line, the one closest to the driver side fender is the one missing. Any idea of which one it is? I thought it was the horn relay (since the horn doesn't work) but the replacement I got @ Autozone doesn't come close to fitting. There are also a few gauges on the dash that don't work - the fuel & oil pressure don't register & the odometer seems to "jump" occasionally. Am I dealing with multiple electrical problems? Other than these things, it runs like a champ.
You can't see the wires on that style of fuse block.
The cover doesn't tell which relay is which, either. It only has the numbers on it. The Haynes manual has an excellent map of that block, but not all relay (or fuse) positions SHOULD be full. There were a lot of options, and your truck probably doesn't have them all. The owner's manual also has a map that will tell you what's what.
That truck uses standard 30A Bosch-type relays which you can find almost anywhere, including Wal-Mart in the Blazer light accessories section.
The relay farthest to the driver's side is the EEC Power relay, so the truck shouldn't even run without it, unless someone has done some WIERD rewiring...
It sounds like you've got a few problems - diagnose the instruments as one problem; the horn as a second, the speedometer as a third; and the "missing" relay as a fourth.
