VIN Help

Just bought a 1942 1-Ton....VIN is listed on the title as 669Y1198338. My neighbor swears this truck is a '47. Can someone decode this VIN and settle this?

VIN Help

Both years are incorrect. It's a 1946 model. The 42-47 Ford trucks are nearly identical, so it's an easy mistake. If it was a '42 the Ford logo on the hood side would be a die cast chrome emblem. But all your VIN tells us is it's s 1946 V8 1 ton.
