Starting problem...puzzled??
My 98 Navi was given to me and it was sitting a year before I got it. I replaced the battery because the previous one wouldn't hold a charge. It starts up runs great. Now, most of the time the dash and ignition acts like it has a dead battery and dim dash lights if any. Yesterday I messed with the shifter and everything lit up bright and cranked. Now, today I tried to start it I kept hearing a beeping under the glove box...no idea what the heck that is. I said what the heck let me see something so I turned on the headlights and the dash lights up and it starts for me. What is going on? i've never experienced something like this. Is there a short or something I'm missing?
update: now i cant get it to start at all. i hear buzzing under the dash and relays clicking. battery checks out and alternator too. it does crank when it wants to with no problem but i just cant figure it out

i routed it to being the ground. i messed around with the battery yesterday and tapped the negative cable and i heard things come on and from there its been fine so i decided to replace both positive and negative cables from the frame,body, & engine. it has sat for a while and now things seem to act alot better
