Good for you! When I got mine I tore it down and stripped the powder coat and paint, refinished with new powder and paint. I pulled all 4 bearing sets apart, replaced one set due to an old water intrusion issue and repacked and resealed all of them, local auto parts store had the seals and bearings, trailer axle stuff. Looks and performs like new now!

Our TT is 35 feet overall and weighs in at 9200lbs loaded ready to travel. the trailer has a GVWR of 11,200lbs. the X will tow remarkably when you address the soft rear suspension. I installed a Hellwig rear sway bar and airbags. most people will change out the rear springs for SD springs. and if you are going to tow heavy (7klbs and up you will want the 4.30 gears.

Now that's an interesting looking set up. Throw a mini cooper up there and you're set.

I've never seen one like this...Is that a custom setup or can you actually buy that type of toy hauler?

How well does that beast behave with no toys onboard? It looks like it would be a little light on the tongue and prone to being a bit waggy. I know my traditional TH is very tongue heavy without toys loaded.

It does just fine without toys the unloaded tounge weight is around 600lbs. Is all. I don't get any wag with my equalizer hitch hooked up.

The search is still on for an Arrow, nothing local. I called Hensley and they want $2200 plus shipping for a refurbished one.

I'm checking pretty much every day if something reasonably priced shows up I don't get any replies.

Any tips for determining what stringer I need?

Thats a lot higher than they quoted for me, last time I talked to Terry there I think He said $1250 for a refurbbed unit with lifetime warranty. I guess the price varies based on what they buy the old used units for.....
If you dig around on their website there is a link to an online users manual for the Arrow hitch, in it there is the directions for finding the correct stinger drop you will need. I have the printout of the manual somewhere around here, I'll try to find the info you need.

Are you also looking for a Pro Pride? Pretty much the same thing, but maybe a little cheaper. Designed by the same guy that made the Hensley.

Good point Eric, I would buy a Pro-Pride in a heartbeat for the right price. Plus they have been on the market long enough now that some users are moving on to fifth wheels and Class A's. And the PP is available with an adjustable stinger.

I found the order sheet for a new stinger from Hensley. Take the measurement (on a level surface) from the top of the tow vehicle's hitch opening to the parking surface. Then measure from the top of the trailer's coupler (parked level on a level surface) to the parking surface. The top of the ball of the Hensley Arrow is 5 1/2" above the top of the hitch bar. Now just do the math to see what you need.
There are also two different styles of frame brackets, where the screw jacks that tension the spring bars mount. To determine which frame brackets you need they use an A,B and C description of how the coupler sits in relation to the trailer frame. Type A and B both use the same brackets and work with couplers that mount to the top of the frame rails and have the top of the coupler even with or slightly lower than the top of the frame rail. The other style bracket is type C where the coupler is mounted to the bottom of the frame rails and the top of the coupler is lower than the midpoint of the frame rail. Of course our old TH had a type A coupler and the new TT has a type C, so I had to buy new frame brackets.

For $1300 it would be an easy buy from them. I've had no luck finding ProPride hitches for sale. Thanks for the measuring info I'm going to try and track down the info on their site today.

I'm the new owner of a Hensley Hitch, just got home from picking it up. I'm going to need a different stringer I think, the one that it came with has a 4" drop/rise but for $800 it was a good deal.
