coolant testing

truck is starting to show small amount of puking when towing. it has egr delete, head studs, ect and eot delta are 8-12. I did a pressure test to the coolant and everything seemed all right. the highest I ever saw in coolant was 12psi and that harping on it down the highway at 95 mph. it would usually run 5-9 psi on normal city driving and normal highway driving. psi did not build quickly or anything. and it help pressure (1 psi for 30 min) the only thing I really noticed is the psi was very responsive to the throttle. say I am going down the highway at 60 mph (7psi) and I hammered on it, it would almost jump (2 psi right away and then build slowly) at the end I would going 95 and have 11-12 psi is that normal?
also I want to do the coolant test strips for combustion gasses. absolutely no auto stores can give me any info around here, so i have been looking on ebay. will these strips work?
-accustrip 1550 test strip
-Donaldson Coolant Test Strips X007684
-4106 NAPA Coolant Test Kit, Coolant Testing 50 Count
which ones am i after? for cat, elc, ec-1 red coolant in a 6 .0
is there a cheaper place to buy other than ebay?
also i see these leak detector kits as well Combustion Leak Detector LIS75500 Brand NEW | eBay
what are your thoughts?
thanks a lot guys! any info would be awesome!

What year and motor? I'm guessing a 6.0? When was your last coolant change? When was your last thermostat change? And have you changed the degas cap? When you did the head studs did you use OEM gaskets?

it is a 2005 6.0, with 223km and I have only had it for about 20km, I did a coolant flush with cat elc and put in a new thermostat probably 5000km ago. new cap about 1000k, but it puked since then soo I will get a new one. buuuuut I didn't do the headstuds and I don't know what gasket was used! I would hope oem! I think I have come to the conclusion why I hit 220 when towing, I don't think my fan is working to its full potential(or at all) because I have never heard thing at all.(soposibly it sounds like a jet plane or something). im in Canada so sorry about the km and usage! Ill try to use the American measuring system as much as possible!!! heheh

For those passing through, figure 620mi per 1000km for conversion. Its not exactly that but that will get you through the day.

Make sure the coolant is at the proper level which is about 1/2" below the minimum mark on the degas bottle. Is your egr valve in place and plugged in?

I'm not familiar with live wire but can you see your fan speed. I would also check the wiring to your fan to make sure its still intact. How is the level of the coolant?

No it dose not show fan spreads or rpm, The wires and connector seem good and my coolant sits arround 1/4 inch below line(cold). My degas only has one line!

Sounds like your coolant level is fine. What do you mean only one line off your degas? You should have 2 at the top and the main coming out the bottom. Is one hole plugged off?

Ok i understand. Your degas bottle should be filled about half way. Are you adding coolant after it pukes? Your fan operation sounds suspicious. You will need a way to see fan RPMs. Scangauge2, torque for android or dashboss for iPhone, for all we know its not running, and at 220 degrees I'm guessing that it should be locked hard. My fan hits about 2400 RPMs at 217 degrees and never gets any hotter, it will cool my motor down in about 30 seconds to 207 degrees. It does sound like a jet.

Yeah I will look into getting my hands on something. But do you or anyone else have any info on coolant tests for combustion gasses? Otherwise than pressure tests?
