I may be looking at a used Hypermax turbo tomorrow. I don't know a lot about them, I did some searching and reading and have some questions.
Are there different models that are more or less desirable?
Are parts available?
Are parts priced reasonably?
TIA!
Hypermax has two systems for the IDI, the conventional and the pulse. Neither are waste-gated, both seem to perform well from what I've read.
I haven't had to order any parts for mine yet, probably will when I put it back together, so I have no first hand experience with it, again going by what I've read is the parts are all available and the customer service is supposed to be excellent.
Their website shows both systems as available. I contacted them once asking for the manual/instructions (for the wrong system, my fault, I thought I had the conventional, I had the pulse), and they emailed it to me next day.
Oddly enough though, there seems to be zero venders available for aftermarket parts other than Hypermax themselves. There's not even a single used part on ebay.
Thanks for all the info. I talked to the guy and he said the pipe(s?) from the manifold to the turbo is missing. I dont see any parts prices on the website... may have to wait until monday and call them.
