Any recommendations for a realtively cheap(under $100?) exhaust tip or system that gets a really good tone with out waking up the neighbors.....too much heh heh. All the trucks I was going to buy in the past had duals, which sounded fabulus, but I don't want to spend that much money. I haven't done much research, so I don't really know whats out there or if my price range is unreasonable. Thanks for any help.
Hi Sorry, but you don't get anything for $100. Check out Summit Racing or Jegs, or some of the Bronco sites in the classifeds.
A set of summit racing shorties and a flowmaster or other exhaust system will run several hundreds of dollars.

my exhaust cost me 130dollars my truck already had duals but had 1 muffler about to come off and no tailpipes at all
i had a muffler shop fix me up
2 18"glass packs 19 bucks each
2 chrome tips 1o bucks each
and 2 tailpipes
plus clamps and hangers and labor
came to 132 dollars
the glasspacks sound awesome but if you dont want to loud and to much attention go with 22"glasspacks, they sound awesome and are only extremely loud when you step on it
my best advise is go to a popular muffler shop and get good pipe because if you dont you'll end up replacing it 2 years down the road
What if I got a Flowmaster 50 series muffler for 90 bucks and installed it myself, wouldn't that get me some pretty good sound, or do I need a lot more than just a muffler? Sorry if these are stupid questions, but I really just got into the world of exhaust.
Hi, goto the Flowmaster website and read the specs. Unless your exhaust system has been worked on/replaced recently...the rusted connections willtake you over budget.
and frustration real fast.

I haven't looked at it in detail, but I know that the muffler was replaced...has no rust. I'm not sure about the rest of the connections, but if they were not replaced, they are going to be completely rusted out.
Here's another scenario. If I ask my dad to buy this muffler for my birthday and pay for installation, or maybe I buy it and ask him to pay for installation for a present, would the muffler alone make good sound or would I need a whole exhaust system? Just curious. I don't think I'd want to spend even that much just for exhaust sound unless it was a present. I'm just doing my research at this point.
I have been looking into getting a new exhaust for the past few days. Looked at the Flowmaster 50 Cat-back kit. Costs around 240 at JEGS. Talked to a shop in Philly and they quoted the same system at 405 for parts and 120 for installation. Got him down to 360 for parts. He said they wouldn't install it if I bought the kit somewhere else. Does this sound like a fair price? I wouldn't do it myself b/c I live in the city and don't have the tools or knowledge to do it.
Hey guys, sorry for dragging this back up to the front again. I am also looking at replacing my exhaust on my 93 XLT 351 with the kit fom Jegs with the Flowmaster Delta 50 series muffler but they spec it as 2.5" tube and I was hoping to go 3". I saw a 3" system advertised online somewhere but can't find it now. What gains will I be missing on the 2.5" setup? Anyone know where I can find the 3" version? I've tried Jegs, Jcwhitney and BroncoGraveyard so far.
