i am just now starting to fit the wood i got at pf into my bed. i hope you guys can help me figure out how the driver side is very unsquare but the pass. side is only out a very little. i don't see how one side could be different then the other due to the cross members. maybe the end panel of the bed is bent.
there was a post like this one a few weeks ago.
maybe if you check that one out you might find your answer.
just maybe.
if not then i bet someone who has had this problem can help you out.
im no where near that part yet.
You need to measure the width at the front and the rear. If they are not the same, you'll never be square. You also need to measure from front to rear in a "X" pattern and compare the measurements. Has the bed had any extensive repairs to it?, say the crossmembers replaced?Don't use a square on it, that will only show that it was square in the area you put the square in. It could be the way it was assembled at the factory. The jig to hold it could have been worn. It could have a twist to the structure, making it out of square. I know the F-2 beds are a different width from front to rear. You may have to scribe that last board to fit. How does it fit on your frame? A frame that was out of square would twist the bed out also. Just a few thoughts.................
Dale, If you took the measurements we suggested a few weeks ago, then yes, you have a bent panel. That should not be hard to figure out though. You need a four foot straight edge to check.
