Ceramic, tri-metal,standard.... My engine won't actually be performance, but I'd like to see it make a few rounds at at least 5.5 g's on command to show-up a few bow-tie affairs, and still be a daily driver. What's right for me? suggestions?
I don't have a lot of experience with this engine. The cam bearings sizes are different. Mine appear to have gone through a second build. bottom surface worn, top oil build up. They really need changed. Has anyone had trouble putting them back square in the bore? All suggestions are appreciated!!
Another source for ordering various coated parts. BTW my set of rod & mains ran about $120. Have run these coatings before and very impressed at teardown many years later:
As far as the cam bearings go... have the shop that hot tanks, bore or hone, size rods etc your parts take care of it. Don't bother coating them... they run forever anyway.
