Morning Pat...Neil...gotta get my inflatable swim thingies out...been absolutely pouring here for the past hour or so...supposed to get around 4" before it ends!!!
Ken, we used to have to sedate our old dog, Otis. He HATED fireworks. Luckily, Shadow and Bently don't seem to mind them.
She was fine up until a few years ago...now loud noises... thunder...fire works terrify her. She tries climbing into places she can't get into or out of. She'll be 13 next Sunday and has really bad hips. When we have loud boomers I wind up sleeping on the couch to comfort her.

I am in store for 1-2" over the next 24 hours and I hate to say this, you have a built in personal floatation device... no need for swimmies
Our hound Buddy freaks out too to thunder or fireworks. Had no issues until about 5 years ago. If we catch it in time, we give him a Benedryl and he has a Thunder Shirt that he wears. Does not stop him from flipping out, but it does calm him down to a degree.

It used to be that the loudest thunder or fire works would only cause her to raise her head and look around...then right back to the nap. It's gotten really bad in the past few years...I feel bad for her.
