Tim,

What worried me most was ot neing able to keep my EGT's in check. I thought I may have made a mistake by going with the slightly larger sticks, I am glad that I didnt go any bigger though or I think I would have had a problem. Im not really suprised as this has been a great truck, have I had some problems...you bet, but nothing an little elbow grease and some money cant fix.

Next thing on the list is a FASS Im thinkin...wish you had yours installed, I talked alittle to Tex but hes running the older version.

I wouldn't be worried about temps provided you have tunes for the injectors. You can always dial back the injectors and you have a bigger turbo.

I've heard the issues with the aftermarket pump filter setups is that they don't work as well as the high pressure pump where the Cummins and Duramax use them as a low pressure lift pump so they are not putting out 65psi. Maybe the regulated return makes that a non issue.

I agree with ^^^^^^

Per4mance take it easy and don't over do it too soon. But it's good
to hear you were able to get out and drive a little bit. That little bit
of independence will make you feel better and help you get better.
Being stuck sucks and then you brood and ........ well we know what happens.

There are a few different fuel pump options besides FASS and ADII. The ADII has obviously become problematic, even though their customer service and replacementhas been great. I simply have no knowledge about the reliability of the new FASS......yet. The only concern about the A1000 is how to mount a reliable filtration and water separation system.

...And that is the other thing that worries me about the A/M pump set ups. Right now I have great consistant FP out of my stock pump, so I guess maybe I will wait and see what becomes of the new FASS 1000, again if it aint broke dont fix it.

A company called fuel lab has a new fuel system coming out for the 6.0 maybe you should wait and see how it looks to install before you make a decision. It's supposed to be really good

Yeah,

I think Im going to wait. I kind of had my mind set on a ADII then I satrted reading the reviews and they started to scare me. Then I talked to Tex, he had some great luck with the older FASS, but on the new stuff Im worried about the filtration/water separation issues.

I will keep a steady eye on my fuel pressure guage and wory about that brige when the time comes.

I was thinking about pulling the engine this winter and doing a reseal and some head studs, just not sure I want to cause any issues that dont exist. I guess I wont rattle the cage.

BTW its raining in Cape May and Im bored.

Return Trip Happy

So here is the return trip results as well.

My wife and I decided that since we had to be off site by 11 am Saturday we would spend the day yesterday at the beach, break camp, and head home last night while it was alittle cooler.

So we head out around 6pm, and the temp is about 90*, we hit the road, and here is what I averaged for my readings, I did push the truck a little harder on the way home cause I was tired and my average speed was right around 73 mph, so...

ECT averaged 208* peaked about 217* pulling I 287 N coming out of Jersey there are a few good steady climbs.

EOT averaged 210-213* with a peak of 221* My coolant fan starts to operate at 213*, so while climbing grade at 221 it didn't stay there for long.

MY EGT's averages 900* and had a few times where I saw near 1300* for s second or 2.

I used about an extra 1/4 tank due to speed increase but hey that's expected and my fault I could have slowed down, over all the trip was just shy of 1000 miles including the driving we did in Cape May and I averaged 13.2 hand calculated.

My trans temp never exceeded 190* even when working the truck hard going up grades. And as we came north the outside temperature also climbed a few degrees.

So all in all the truck performed well, as some of you know I was considering a dually conversion, I think that may be off the table, The BFG's are way more stable than the Good Year Silent Armours and Cooper AT3's that I tried in between, I think I am going to add a Helwig sway bar and call it good.

Hope everyone had a great holiday and hope that some of you enjoy your trucks as much as I enjoy mine, on deck is a fresh set of fuel filters, fresh fuel, some Diesel Clean, and a fresh oil change with Rotella T-6

Glad you had a good time in Cape May and the truck ran great with no issues. I'm in Va right now and had a little miss hap but no biggie ( blew off hot side boot) but all in all these are great trucks!

I was having that problem for a while too, but after the CCV reroute, and new boot all has been well for a long time, actually when I removed the OEM turbo 2 years ago it had no oil on the hot side at all, so it actually works. LOL
