Transmission Growling
Dads 2001 F-350 7.3 with a 6 speed manual and my 1983 F-250 6.9 with the t19 4 speed, also a manual, have a really loud growling noise coming from the transmission when starting off and will do it if you are going slow, about 5 mph, as long as you don't give it any gas. As soon as you rev it up a little it quits. Is this normal? Possibly a diesel only thing? Or are we just cursed because I've never heard of anyone else having this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
