I got a new rebuilt motor in my 2002 f350 with the 7.3
it has all new pistons and rings, bearing, lpop, arp main studs, arp head studs, main stud girdle, new 165cc single shot injectors, new t500 hpop, new water pump, two new batteries, new alternator, new camshaft sensor, new injector control pressure sensor, new valve cover gaskets, pigtails, gpr, glowplugs, fuel crossover from riffraff, new water temp sensor, new starter solenoid, new turbo (38R) 6position chip programed by riffraff diesel, I crank over the engine but my check gauge light stays on and battery light does too, there is no air in fuel lines, fuel goes up to the bowl fine, all the fuses were good, when I crank it over there is a black box behind the passenger side battery that is vibrating and clicking when it is cranking over. if someone has AE near point harbor nc or virgina beach and could help me please I need help badly. I can pay for gas to come and a little money to help test it. the oil reservoir is full. im not sure how to put pics on here but if you can help ill email a pic of that box I was talking about.
do you have an email I could send pictures to you if you don't mind. if not that's okay. I actually believe you replied to my last post too, so thank you for your time and help.
It just vibrates and makes a really bad clicking sound when the key is on, and my battery light stays on all the time with two new batteries and a new alternator. tight connections on terminals.
Being that this is a fresh rebuild I would start with thinking loss of oil...really some form of diagnostic tool to be able to view ICP would be helpful, and I know that's what you are looking for.
You could rig up a temporary low pressure gauge to make sure you are not loosing it before the high pressure oil pump. Galley plugs on the back of the block have been forgotten before...
Or it could just be as simple as trash in the IPR.
Check gauge light implies something off such as oil psi, overheat etc but i really think it will be on as long as key is on not running. Does it build oil psi while cranking? They don't always show up but usually if its been turned over a bit, it will start building oil psi before cranking.
Good luck with it. If you have cranked on it a bit, make sure you are keeping batteries charged. It WILL not crank below 10.5 v as bigal mentioned earler
You plugged up IPR and cleaned all the oil off of ICP sensor connector before plugging back up? And tightened hpop nut?
ill check maybe I got a bad hpop, I haven't lost in oil that I have seen ill check again tomorrow. the galley plugs are all back in place. maybe the reservoir needs more what is the sensor on top of the oil reservoir? batteries are always being charged
