Any NextDoor.Com Users Here?......

My neighborhood does not have an HOA, but there are some of us regular volunteers that show up for the beautification/maintenance projects. They are trying to build a better communication network for the neighborhood, and are inviting people to join Nextdoor.com

It's supposed to be an online forum that allows neighborhoods to better communicate and get to know each other.

I'm not listed in the phone book because I like my privacy and don't use facebook or any of the online social network things.

I was wondering if any nextdoor users here could give me their feedback?

I doubt i'll join but just wanted to see some feedback on it first.

Sounds like a good idea---on paper anyway. First thing that jumps out at me is that site probably is openly viewable by anyone---no real association or affiliation with any one neighborhood required to just look in?

As with most "social media" its probably not as useful as hoped for and too many would use it to post nonsense not really related to the sites intended purpose.

I'm too old now and old skool prefer to look my neighbors in the eye when we're talking.
