I gotcha, that makes sense. Can't wait to some pics.

Thanks. I did trim the front plastic and pulled the inner fender liner back because I was getting some rubbing while in reverse and pulling out of the drive. It does rub the rear of the leafs at full lock....I just try to avoid any tight spots.

96grim- Truck is looking great, lift looks great and dig the 04 headlights. Great find on the platinum.

Where did you get the headlights? I was thinking those would look great on my 99 with a set of HID's.

I bought them from partsgeek.com. For inexpensive body shop type replacements they look great. I did run a bead of clear silicone just for extra protection from fogging.

Trying to get into the engine bay of a lifted truck can present some hurdles...easy fix though.

Installed the new cops tonight. Truck runs SO much better. Still have a slight off idle so it may be time for a new IAC since I've already cleaned the factory one.

Also finally took measurements. These are ground to fender.
Front 44.5"
Rear 45"

Before
Front 39.5"
Rear 41.25"

Roughly 5" up front and 3.75" in the rear but that also includes the ~1" from going from 295/75's to 315/75's.

Grim do you have any pics of those lights at night!? I never thought LED's would beat HID lights but what i have seen recently (of course after i already have 4 hella 700ff with HIDs) shows that they are much better and more efficient.

I've tried taking pictures but all I have is my phone and it does the output no justice.

I previously had 2 Hella 700's and 2 Hella 500's I converted with 55w 4500k hids and the rigids put them to shame for distance.

Small update. I wasn't happy with how the grill looked without any of the mesh so I trimmed out the center section and put it back on. Still searching for the "right" grill emblem.

Lol I just added my 2 sets of Hella 700ff's with 3k and 6k 35w HID's I bought all this before i really looked into LED bars though so Ill run them until they quit and by that time maybe LED's will be cheaper.

No more mods yet but I finally got a chance to really detail the interior. I do detail cars on the side and even though I've gotten away from daily drivers and mainly do show cars.....I still haven't forgot how much it sucks trying to clean carpet that's been neglected. With that said, the carpet is junk (in my eyes) and when I re do the seats, I'll order new carpet.

Here's a few pics.....well just because.

Also just a random pic from today.

I ended up ordering a factory replacement emblem. I think I'm going to have the oval painted one color of the two tone and the Ford script in the other....haven't decided yet which colors to use for which yet though.

Very nice! I like the idea of for the emblem, what do you plan to use for the seats? New covers?

Yea, I'll find a shop that can make a replacement cover so it'll look factory, just new again.

I considered doing something custom but with the limited number of these trucks, I think I'll do more of a restoration.

I originally was going to go with 05 headlights but didn't want to deal with the cutting and pig tails. I'm glad I went with this style. I picked them up from Discount Auto Parts Online -- PartsGeek.com - Domestic & Import Auto Parts Warehouse

Shaun, GREAT looking rig!!! I think everything you have done has really made it stand out! I never even knew they made a Platinum edition of those trucks back then. Keep up the good work!

It's been awhile since I've done anything to the truck but finally got something I've wanted for awhile.

Picked up this 9 led clearance light for $18 at O'reillys. Never hurts to have more lights on the rear and of course they look good. No real install pics since you use the self tapping screws and it ground's itself and I tapped into the license plate power wire.

I'll try to get some night pictures later.

Now while I was putting this on I noticed I had a crack on the inside of my driver's tail light. You can't see it with the tail gate up but to me it's a good enough excuse to upgrade to 08+ tails.

Also since I haven't posted a front shot since I put the grill emblem on, here's one. I decided to stick with just a factory emblem since I couldn't decide on how to customize it.

I'll be changing the rotting exhaust tips after this winter. I'm debating on just putting on new stainless tips or completely changing it up. Plenty of time to decide.
