Speedo problems again!!

Ok I have a problem, I went to reprogram my speedometer, and I could not change the conversion constant. I think I’m all out, I thought I had three left. I may have done something wrong but not sure. I have never touched the Speedo since I bought it so someone before must have used up 6of them. Some how with out ever changing tires size cause it was stock when I got it
I’m including a picture, maybe some one can tell me for sure if I have any left, thanks for all your time

Speedo problems again!!

There is a wire directly underneath the glove box that you have to ground out. It should have a black connector labeled PSOM on it. Once you do that you should be able to change it.

Thanks Scott, but I should have said what I did to try and change it.
I had grounded the connector, and it would not change.
So that tells me I’m all out of conversion constants, but I wanted to see if someone maybe could tell me by looking at my Speedo for sure, before I buy another one.
Any input is appreciated

you should have 3 left. mine said 6 froim the factory and I have changed it once and it now says 3. I would double chack that you are getting a good ground when you jump the psom wire, because it will appear that you are changing it but it won't lock in if the ground is not good.

Well, I tried it again, and it still would not change.
I ground it real good, followed the instructions from the tech article on this site, and I could not change the calibrations at all.
What I mean is the number will not change, when pressing select.
I guess that’s it I’m getting a new speedometer.

Yes the button normally works fine; I can’t figure out why it’s not working, other that it being out of calibrations.

That is weird, you should have 3 left. If I were you, I'd at least take it to Ford to see if they can change it before you buy a new speedometer.

Good idea Scott I think I’ll do that. I don’t think I’m buying a brand new Speedo, cause they are way too much, I’d rather spend it on a drive shaft, and leave the Speedo the way it is.
I’ll go to the dealer, see what they say.

Madman
Superlift makes a device called Truespeed that you can use to recalibrate you speedo as many times as you like. I believe they can be had for under $200

Madmann, all the research I did came up with a "no go" on the true speed. The word I got was our trucks use a 2 wire coil type pickup. The reprogramers(like truespeed) are for a 3 wire hall effect pickup. But the bad news is: going by your pic, E is for english, 03 is for the software code, and no other numbers. No other means no more tries. Sorry. Good luck. Hippie.

A dealership can reprogram the speedo, you will have to remove the whole gauge cluster and they can program it. I bought a new speedo because mine busted and they programmed it with the mileage from the old one, the calibration and everything needed. It would probably be cheaper that way than buying a new 350 dollar gauge cluster(you can't buy the speedo itself).

Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Sunroof, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .

Check out my Gallery for a look-see.

Then theres:
99' Mustang GT 4.6L
88' F-250 Superduty 4x4 351/c6
95' Mercury Cougar 4.6L V-8
80' E-350 300/6 with a
3 spd column shifter. Top speed is 65mph, Go Baby Go!

Speedo problems again!!

Hey guys, I’ve been on vacation, left Wednesday came back Sunday.
Ok I found a cluster on ebay, it was a non-tach but I don’t care, I was taking a chance and hoped it had calibrations left. Well I won the auction, got it for $5 bucks, put it in...Programmed it, and works like a dream. Only problem is now my truck had 240,000 miles.
Mustang...how much did they charge to change the mileage?
Thanks guys for all you help, it is very appreciated.
Oh, Jrock909 go to this page, it will tell you where it is. [link:https://www.ford-trucks.com/articles/december2001/speedorecal.php|Click me]
Here is what it looks like, it’s under the glove box.
