I just traded my 2001 V-6 AWD Escape 200,000 miles for a new 2013 Front wheel drive Escape SE with 2.0 Eco turbo engine. Have put 8500 miles in the last two months. They are very different vehicles. Many new updates that has taken some time to learn how to use. Very happy with the car quality have only been back to the dealer for a free oil change. Gas mile went from 20 to 25 - 31 depending on conditions. The car handles much better in cross winds, The 2.0 engine has more then enough zip to keep up with traffic and to pass. Seats have more adjustment range. So far very happy with the new model.
Anyone know if there is a difference between the 2013 and 2012 besides changing the exterior?
Thank you
The 2012 and 2013 Escapes are totally different vehicles built on different platforms and share almost no parts. The exception is the six-speed automatic that is carried over plus the 2.5 liter 4-cylinder that is standard in the intro level model.
Ahh thanks. I was afraid they would be totally different.
Yup, before I bought my 2014 Subaru Forester, I looked at the 2013 Escape. Believe me it is nothing like the previous years models. I had a 2003, that gave me excellent service, but was unsure if the 2013 would do the same. Plus once you go for some extras like AWD and some other things, the price goes thru the roof. Not even talking about the styling which now makes the Escape try to look like all those other SUV's out there.
