Bigger Air Dam
It has been a while since I have posted anything but I am looking to do another small upgrade to my truck..
On the newer body style trucks I have seen a lot of talk about putting a bigger air dam on the front bumper which is helping out a lot on lifted trucks getting a little better gas mileage.
I have been searching for a larger air dam for my 2005 Harley truck and I am coming up with nothing out there.
Has anyone put a larger air dam on their truck?
Has anyone tried to put the 08 style on their 05 bumper?
Any replies would be greatly appreciated.......
Thanks.....
Results were negligible for the 2500 mile round trip I averaged 16.823 MPG hand calculated. This was not significantly different from previous trips. I removed the larger air dam after the trip because I thought it looked odd, and with no significant difference why keep it there.
Better fuel mileage for me was the FICM tuning with the ECM rollback from PHP. same trip mileage was over 18.5mpg with the same load in the truck.
I was thinking that if you did an even larger air dam than just the 2008 version (you will note that the air dam sits lower on the 2008) maybe you would get a positive result, but it really would look dumb in my opinion. It is a 4x4 for god's sake.
Hope this helps,
Bill
