I have a 95 F150 with the 302 in it and I have a set of Canfield 195 heads (20-475-58-1) with 58cc chambers sitting in my shop. I also have a Trick Flow R series intake lying around. I'm looking for a recommendation for a cam that will work with this setup that will give me decent power all around. I also have a 70mm throttle body lying around and have all the tools and ability to make the necessary modifications to make this throttle body work in the truck. I'm not looking to build a 500hp beast but my goal is just to give the truck a little more get up and go and just more all around power. In my experience with the Trick Flow intake it's always been more of a performer in the higher ranges but then I could use a little more power in that area because when I step on it to pass or jump on the freeway I want it to get up and move. I also have some long tubes sitting around. I have a set of Kooks that came off of my 91 Fox body and was curious as to whether or not these will clear on the F150. If not i'll just stick with the headers I pulled off my 94 F150. I'm looking for comments both good and bad related to this combo before I think about putting it on the truck. I'm also interested in cam recommendations from anyone who may have experience with any of these parts. As I said, i'm not looking for a huge cam and gobs of power. I'm mainly interested in a good setup that will yield a fairly decent power increase all around. This will be mostly a temporary setup (about a year or so) until I can finish up my 351 build and it will be driven on a fairly daily basis. Thanks in advance for any input!
Those parts are WAAAAAAAAAAY too big for a 5.0 truck motor, you will end up with something that makes less power in the rpm range most often used 0-4000. To get a decent power boost all around add 1.7 rockers and those longtube headers to the stock motor, that won't require fuel system and computer changes like the other parts will but will certainly wake the motor up.

Damn. That's really too bad because now I have to build my 347 or 351 much sooner than I hoped. Darn. What are your thoughts on the Trick Flow manifold on a 351? With the right cam think it'll be alright as far as torque goes? How 'bout the Kooks headers off the Mustang? You know if they'll fit or not? Thanks for the input!
The stock 5.0 truck intake outflows everything else on the motor by a good bit but the 5.8 version isn't so generous so the Trickflow would be a good upgrade. That extra 1/2" of stroke you get with a 347 or 351 doesn't sound like much but it makes a big difference in torque output allowing the motor to make quite a bit more grunt at lower rpms, so the intake isn't as much of a concern with that displacement. Mustang headers will not fit a truck at all, shorties won't mate the stock Y pipe(not that you would want to do that anyway) and longtubes hit the firewall and frame.. you need truck specific headers.
