over charging battery troubles....
I have a 1976 F250 3/4 ton pu. It has a 390 and is 4wd. Have replaced the alternator. After replacing the alternator, I checked the voltage at the battery. Reading is 20 volts. I replaced voltage regulator with new one. (electronic not manual.) This is a new battery. I do not want to over charge this battery.
Anybody have any ideas as to where to go next?

Let me guess, Japanese or Korean replacement part.
A lot of the far east parts have problems , Get another volatge regulator because that is what decides how much juice to put out.
If you can't get a Motorcraft replacement >
Look for a *Standard* Ignitionpart
