Okay ,one step forward 2 backwards. In trying to get my tail lights to work I found that some of the wiring going to the head light switch had been hot at some time and melted together. I separated the wires to see if I could get the taillights to work. Now I am not sure what I have done because I have no headlights and it appears that I have no juice going to fuse box either. Nothing works and engine will not start. What could I have done? It will try to start at solenoid at fender well. Any ideas?
when you separated the melted wires you may have broke the wires and now th t don't contact each other. When I am trying to say that if the wires were hot enough to melt together one set has probably burned completely through.
Test each wire from "before" the melted are and then "after" the melted area to see if you are getting any current.
Okay, lose connection at negative side of battery at terminal. Now I have juice it starts and I have head lights.
Now my next question, is my switch bad? Because I have no taillights, or is it still something to do with the wiring going to the switch?
How do I tell?
