Need wheels/tires

Got my 49' 226 6 running pretty good but I have 30 year old bias ply tires that scare the bejeezes out of me.

I thought I had a cheap solution, my 2002 F 150 spare tire would look pretty good on it and I thought I could go junk yarding and get a set for $20 a piece or so.

Alas I just came in from trying to mount on the F1 and the bolt circle is too small, just barely.

Any ideas on how I can get a cheap set of wheel/tires.?
What years Ford truck wheels will fit?

You can measure your existing wheel and find out what size wheel you need to replace it with. You need to have three measurements to fit a wheel (technically four, you need the wheel diameter as well). 1. spacing of lug holes (
that explains how to measure this). 2. Width of the wheel (
that explains this). 3. Backspacing, (or offset... see the last video link).
If you know these specifications you will know which wheels fit and which ones wont. I'm betting you have a 15" diameter wheel, 5 lugs, 5.5 pattern, and about 3.5" backspacing or zero offset. If you do, most late model Ford wheels should fit (1960's, 70's, '80's and even '90's f150, econoline van, etc...) good luck.

As Wally said above.... Stock F-1 bolt circle is 5 on 5 1/2". Wheels from any 1/2 ton Ford pickup or van up till about '98 will fit......should be easy to find.

Jeep CJ's and Dodge 1500 up through 2010 fit also, but check the backspacing on the newer ones.
