Question Haynes vs Reality ?????

99 F-150 Canada Spec 4.6 V8 4x4 S/C

Alternator charge light "appeared".....
Battery good - removed alternator... one of the brushes met me (in pieces......)
Got rebuild alternator - installed it - light still on....
In Haynes, it says there is an in-line 20A fuse (It even includeds a picture of where the fuse is..)
Only one problem - My Truck doesn't look like the one in the picture !!!!
Anyone else know where the magical 20Amp inline fuse is hidden in the 1999 Model year ? Please ??????

Haynes vs Reality ?????

Just a thought, but maybe your truck is a little differenct because it is canada spec. Another thing you want to take into account is that Haynes is not always right. I've had past experience with Haynes being wrong from time to time. For the most part it is a good manual to own and use, but be prepared for mis-information from time to time.

Fuse 11 in the underhood Battery Junction Box (fuse box) is a 20A for the charging system.
There are also 2 fusible links in between the battery and the starter relay on the firewall.
