i recently got a dana 60 off of ebay. the seller provided pictures of the diffs and all of that and everything appeared to be legit. he told me it was posi track(i bought this from a machine shop up north i believe rooster six customs is the name) well it appears to have open diffs now that it arrived(what are the chances i thought it'd be different since i was dealing with a shop) i spin one wheel and the other wheel spins the opposite direction.

can anyone be of any assistance and help me identify it? im mainly looking for the spline count and if it was originally limited slip. also can anyone point me to a good locker than won't cost me a grand. the truck im building is a 4x4 but tbh i'll never put it in the mud
Pop the cover off. If someone put an after market l/s unit in the tag won't reflect that. L/s units allow some wheel spin and then start to lock up, they work differently than lockers

but wouldn't both wheels spin the same direction and not in the opposite direction?
also i'm seeing that this is a 16 spline? What? i didn't know they made 16 spline dana 60s. Is this thing worthless? I plan on putting 35in tires with a motor pushin ~400hp
wow pulled the shaft and its 16 spline. until today i didnt know they made a 16 spline dana 60. i feel so stupid for buying this. is this thing worthless? where will i get new shafts if one breaks?
im reading they can be converted to 30 spline. can anyone tell me exactly what i need to do this? i mean i doubt a 30 spline is much stronger. i jsut can't seem to find 16 spline shafts
