I have a 2002 f-250 sd with the v-10 which i took delivry on 9-7-01. I finally got around to getting a spare serpentine belt and when I ordered it at my dealer the parts-man stated it was a 8 rib belt.
When I got home I checked my belt on the truck and found it was a 6 rib belt. The pulleys match the 6 ribs for the belt. My shop manuals state it should be a 8 rib belt also. I got the order changed but the mysyery remains as to why my truck is built as it is.
Anyone else run into this mystery?
