door panels
it is my understanding that the 5 star cabs had door panels. i have a 49 cab. where can i find info on the orig. style of panels. i would like to build them myself if possible. also what else came with the 5 star package

The 5 star package came with a chrome windshield moulding, extra emblems, door panels, interior light, two tone seat, sound deadening and insulation, driver door lock and arm rests. It wouldn't be that hard to make simce they are flat. There was a metal fabric covered plate that went on top of the panel and fitted the door handles, eschusions (spelled wrong), and armrest. Since there were door panels they didn't put a door access plate on. Too bad you weren't closer I have an extra 51 Ford 5 star cab.

thanks for the info. my truck is a 49 w/ 51 hood, finders & grill. there is a raised area in the metal panel where the door and window handles are. i was planing to put panels above and below this approx. 2 1/2" wide stripe. would that be the orig. look.
