I'm assuming you have a California truck with a GPCM. I had a similar issue with mine, it would only throw a code when it was dry out. I had a bad ground on the block and it was badly corroded. I'm leaning twards UVCH on the pass being loose and needing at least .25

Yep, 25 cents and several hours of elbow grease. Cheap.
In addition to what Christof said...While you're in there, Ohm your glow plugs, and torque down your injectors and rocker arms to spec. That extra 5 minutes is priceless.

This was my thought as well. There may also be a problem with the actual GPCM.
