Low rpm's at idle

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if so is it a problem? When I crank my truck, the rpm's are low, around 500-600 at idle. It will stay there even after it warms up. The odd thing is, it does not do it all the time, sometimes it idles normally. Seems to be getting more frequent now. Truck has almost 37,000 miles on it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Just a thought but you might try putting some injector cleaner in the next time you fill up.

Had a similar problem and it was the EGR (Exhaust Gas Return) valve. I take it that your warranty has expired? Otr do you have xwarranty?

IAC (idle air control) valve. Go to the Super Duty forum, FAQ. You will find a subject on the engine not idling. This will answer all your questions. The part is around $70.00, will take an hour to change with lots of cussing.

Did mine 2 weeks ago. She purrs like a kitten now. Very common problem on the V-10.

Thanks for the help! Sounds like exactly what mine is doing. I will tackle the replacement ASAP. This is a great web sight! Finding alot of good information.
