E40D accumulator springs

E40D accumulator springs
I'm troubleshooting why my tranny shifts really hard between 2-3. While doing the fluid flush I pulled the accumulator valve body off to see if any springs where broke. All 3 of the accumulators had 2 springs, i long outer spring and a stiffer short inner spring.
Is this stock for these trannys? I dont know any history behind this truck, though maybe it had a shift kit installed. I could tell the VB had been off before by the way the some of the bolts had a little wear on the hex edges.
