I put a "cold air" box around mine just to cut down on the drone. It doesn't happen to everyone, and when it happened to me it was only bad on one stretch of road. But it was a stretch of road I drive every day. The box killed the drone and quieted some of the other noises too.

Does anyone know of a dyno test showing a 6637 vs stock.
I have seen them, but can't find a link right now. I do know I have seen a truck with a 6637 dyno a little over 400, so unless you've got some serious mods planned, I would think that filter would do.
So I ordered it up today along with my CCV o rings from Clay today. He is great! Planning on doing my CCV mod at the same time. Looking forward to getting my first box with 'yellow tape!'

A really cool guy worked on me with this project YEARS ago. I even had my BIL plot it out at work for me and still have to get to cutting the tin and installing it.
My Baldwin dealer has the PA2818 for $27.75 and a piece of 4" pipe makes for a cheap upgrade. The Baldwin is what Clay send out in his kits. Plus with his kit you get the nice filter cover
Waiting for my filter to come along with my orings for the doghouse. I'm planning on doing the CCV mod at the same time, but plan on assembling my own parts. I'm planning on running my vent hose all the way back to my exhaust. Anyone know how long that hose should be off the top of their head, and any tips other than the loop over the top of the master cylinder? Thanks!
Just in case you get lazy...don't do it by the door. It stinks and people are always worried about the smoke coming out. Ask me how I STILL know. lol
Scott, I'm getting lazy before the parts even get here. Where would you recommend running that to if I don't go all the way back? If I put it through the wheel well, is it gonna produce enough steam to look like its by the door? Having a hard time finding fuel line that's 3/4", so I'm gonna try heater hose. Think they'll be any problems with that?
I used clear hose from the fertilizer plant I worked at. It is just clear vinyl hose. It has discolored, but still works fine. It doesn't HAVE to be rated for oil (IMO) because it isn't a critical application and there isn't actual fluid flowing in it. It is just a vent to direct the fumes out from under the hood.
I will try and get a video of my truck. It does it all the time and people are always, "wow, you have a problem"
Ok, so my yellow taped boxes showed up yesterday! Just need a rainy day so I can get the truck in the garage and have some time to work on it. My purpose for doing the air filter is because my stock air box has a slight warp in the lid, plus I like my turbo whistle. I was somewhat surprised when my buddy started asking what kind of a HP boost I'd get out of this. Wasn't really looking for any....but now I'm wondering; what kind of increase will I see, if any?
Agreed. I don't think you'll get any hp out of it just better filtering like stated.
There is a thread floating around here with everything you need to know about making a box for the filter. I made one for my truck. I'm sure you can find pictures in my gallery if you want to look, I would post them but I'm on my phone
Well, I got it all in today. I couldn't find a 4" exhaust pipe at Napa, so what I ended up doing was cutting the CCV deflector inside the existing pipe, dropping a bolt through the hole with a bunch of Permatex, with a Nylock nut and washer to plug the hole from the CCV. My filter minder didn't have any wires connected to it. It just was plugged into the air box? Also, my filter rubs right up against my fender... Do I need to trim up my air tube between the filter and the coupling pipe? It just seems kind if crammed in there. As far as noises, my whistle didn't get any louder, but you can definitely hear the engine breathing and that is pretty cool! Just wanted to post up my final results. Would do pics, but I'm sure if you've seen one you've seen them all. Plus I'm a techno idiot. Thanks for all the input guys!
