I've had my new F-150 for about three weeks now and I recently put a scratch in the fender near the battery trying to jump start another vehicle. Apparently, the jumper cables that I was using have a metal band that keeps the cables from separating and that's what caused the scratch. I also have a lighter, less visible scratch on the headlight lens as well.
I can somewhat feel the scratch in the fender with my fingernail and have tried Turtle Wax rubbing compound and scratch remover with little success. Any suggestions on what else I can try? I'm considering either using Quixx or Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0, but wanted to get some suggestions from the FTE crowd.
Emphasis on the reputable. I had a paint job ruined by a body shop that had been in business a long time and was supposedly reputable (and worked on luxury cars). The ham-fisted moron burned the paint with the buffer.
