'08 6.4 with 71,000 miles. My top radiator hose has a small leak. I can see the white crusty stuff so I figure I change them out now that summer is upon us.
I have read here about updated hoses that have two o-ring system as opposed to the single. I am going to order on line but I am unsure if they are the updated two o-ring setup.
They are Motorcraft KM-5058 for the upper and KM-4950 for the lower.
I have also heard great things about Gates brand hoses and belts or should I stick with Motorcraft? Any opinions?
Yes OEM. I am having my hoses replaced now, at 96k. They are leaking and collapsing. I have the Premium ESP but not under warranty in any way as the vehicle is 6 years old and out of the 5yr/100,000 warranty on the rad hoses and its considered a "wearable" item. $776.00 for the hoses and 3 gallons of Gold and labor. I raised a hissy fit, now on Monday the Ford inspectors are coming in to see it and make a final determination. I do not have hope on what they will decide but it was worth the rise in blood pressure to see!
Good luck, when mine failed under the 5/100 and I questioned if removing the cab twice in a year (subsequently splitting said hoses each time) could have contributed you'd think I accused them of murder at the dealership. Needless to say they lost my business again after a long time of not having it for similar issues.
My dealer wants $360ish to replace the top and bottom. I figure for less than one third I can have the hoses delivered to my home. They don’t look to be too hard to change so for the second time in years the dealer won’t get my money for something I will do myself. Last year this time Nissan wanted around the same money to change out the radiator hoses on my wife’s car. I had the hoses delivered for less than $25 and it took me less than one hour change out.

Well Ford is going to cover the hoses! I got the call late yesterday. All hoses and fluid plus they are going to change out the fluid, not a flush.
To the OP, I looked to find an alternative to the hoses on my 08 6.4 just in case Ford would not warranty. No one could come up with them other than the Ford Dealer. NAPA, ALINE (local Motorcraft outlet) PartsPlus. I called Autozone and Oreily, but I figured that was a bust. If you find them please let us know. I think it would do a lot of us a service.

Congrats!. The upper hose on mine went a couple years ago. I have Geico MBI and they covered it. They are pricey..Geico even tried to find an aftermarket one then. Service tech told me. There was none.

I had mine replaced at 25,000 miles. I have an 08 F450. It cost me over $600 and I complained a lot. Has done no good however. The part numbers they used (and said they were the new double o-ring style) were KM5058 and KM5113. I kept the old hoses in case I needed them for a claim.
