I am planning on running radial tires on my 52 f-3 and would like to hear what others are using. I have replaced the widowmaker wheels with 8 lug 16's off of a later model F250 as I could not locate any early models wheel near me. I would like to stay with a stock looking tire, but could not find anything from Coker, etc., did I miss something?
Thanks,
w
My '73 CS has older 235 85 R16 Firestone R4X, I believe they are and they look about like bias. They stand up with very little radial bulge. Tip, since the tires will probably rot off long before they wear out, make them one of the last things you buy.
Depending on your rim width, an xxx/85R16" profile will get you an outside diameter to replicate a 7.50 x 16" bias ply (stock for an F-2). For instance if you have 6" rims they would take 225/85R16s that would be in the 32" diameter range. Your stock F-3 7.50 x 17s were about 34", which could be achieved with wider tires as long as your rim width would handle them. Stu
Thanks for the input guys, I do like the look of several tires in that size. As Raytasch has said, I will wait to buy them as I don't want them to be dry rotted by the time I get the old guy rolling! LOL!!

Not to highjack this thread but Wade I have a question, would you be interested in taking some of Larryb and Pats pics and having some calenders made, special order paid up front with something built in for you for your time and trouble since you know a vendor for the calenders, I'd definatley want one, Garry
Hi Garry, I would be happy to put it together if you think there is enough interest. They would run about 10 bucks to break even which includes postage and padded envelopes..... also would need permission to utilize the pictures.
Let me know,
