I am a new 6.7 owner and had/ have a 7.3
As I have been getting to know the truck I have been under it and noticed that the front drive shaft and axle are locked in. My hubs are switched to auto but I know on my 2000 7.3 when my hubs are on auto my front axle and driveshaft are disengaged... I'm wondering if the new 4x4 system is different. I know that can save on MPG
Thanks
I am not sure about your situation sorry, but i did have a bunch of 4x4 issues with my truck. getting stuck in four hi, not going into four hi, getting the Check 4x4. had to take it to the dealer five or six times for the same issue, i believe my issue was a vac line and a solenoid by the time the system was working normal. I can tell you excatly what it was if you want, as soon as i get it back from the shop with a new radiator, cuz all the paperwork is in a folder in the truck.

Hijack, sorry, how many miles did your radiator last? (Mine only 50,000 miles). It is leaking like crazy but I am having a hard time with putting the same crappy rad back in there and leak after another 50,000. Trying to hold off until these guys have something https://shop.performanceradiator.com...roduct_id=5849
Darren- my truck has just under 39k, i took into my dealer yesterday afternoon. i am hopeing that my dealer will help me out with ford, they are a really good dealer, i talked to lead truck mechanic he said he would take the truck in and see what he can work out also hooked me up with a loaner car. my leak is very very minimal, i have had the truck almost 3 years and i have had it to the shop 7 or 8 times for dumb little things, clear coat coming off the tailgate, 4x4 issues, now the radiator. truck is awesome other wise cant complain at all. but if i do have one more issue i am seriously going to rethink this truck. i love the truck but im just tired of the little annoying issues like that. at this point im going to hope that they can work something out with ford, if not, im going to pay the 1300 to have a new radiator put in, and if it goes out again, not sure what iam going to do at that point. if it were me and this is just my thinking but i would hold off on an aftermarket system and see how the aftermarket stuff does in other trucks first. i have a friend who has a diesel truck shop he thinks that i should stick with an OEM part and i do trust him i have known him a long time. good luck.
to the OP sorry about the hijacking, when i get the truck back ill let you know ecactly what parts they replaced on my 4x4 syestem that way it may or maynot give you a starting point.
